The first in a number of collaborations based on “live instrument” recordings, AKA the P&S Live Experience (for reasons that will become obvious), by Mssrs Peabody & Sherman, featuring long-time collaborator, PS Engel on the guitar.
The original track was realized with legendary Seattle-based producer Steve Fisk (Nirvana, Low, Screaming Trees, Beat Happening) who is also known as the keyboard wizard in Pell Mell, one half of Sub Pop recording artist Pigeonhed, and a solo artist with releases on Sub Pop, and K Records. It is based entirely on one measure from a recorded session of the P&S Live Experience which has been manipulated, added to, subtracted from, and generally run through the sonic wringer by Fisk and Phillip Hertz (one half of P&S).
Little known fact is that Mr Fisk and Mr Hertz were college era roommates and bandmates and that there have been ongoing collaborations over the years.. This is typical of their work together, insistent, abrasive, & catchy as hell.
P&S reconvened at the Wayback HQ and re-edited the Fisk-mix and then said, "what the heck", and remixed it as well.
