WATCH FOR SOUND EP

Hydroponic Sound System is the music collective spearheaded by production team and lab rats Skin and Rube. They get down with hip-hop, funk & soul, analogue afro boogie, & dancefloor jazz.

From a production standpoint, Rube and Skin prefer to filter a wide array of influences into a dusted electronic thump. Hydro collaborates with a number of musicians and vocalists - most frequently Bavu Blakes and Headkrack.

Hydro runs the Alternate Take Records label and their production and remix work has included projects for JT Donaldson, Azeem, Steve Austin, The Coffee Nods, Ocote Soul Sounds, The Polyphonic Spree, Nike, The Dallas Mavericks, and Boxcar.

Hydro's first full length CD Routine Insanity was released through Def Jam/Universal and made several year end Top 10 Lists. XLR8R likened it to "3 Feet High & Rising" and "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back."

Hydro also really likes basketball and stuff.
