From the infamous street pounding techno/electronic jack collective ‘The Dirty Criminals’ which consists of partners Hieroglyphic Being and Traxx, DeeCoy has recorded and showcased his unique sound on such labels as Int’l Dj Gigolo Records, Zuvuya Recordings, Antennae Int’l, and Ghostly’s Spectral Sound. DeeCoy grew up surrounded by 80s pop/new wave during his childhood. Now the kid that once was banging on old metal gas tanks replicating motions made by Einsturzende Neubaten, destroying his guitar covering tunes by 7 Seconds and Minor Threat, and creating electronic pop with his classy casio, is now spinning across the globe and producing serious tracks for those who know. His production along with fellow members of the collective have received rave reviews for staying true to the original acid sounds of the Windy City and marking the return of the gritty street house/techno revolution.
With his new imprint Udek Music, DeeCoy launches more madness into the world with the first Ep entitled ‘Chaotic Distress’. The first track, ‘Abide’, is a slow tempo’d industrial soundscape of harsh synths and raw hypnotic minimalism. ‘One Night Stand’ steps up a couple of notches for pure dancefloor mayhem. Dirty Chicago tech is represented in full force on this one. With a quick hittin rhythm that immediately sets the track to overdrive, thing starts to completely lose control once the bassline takes over. On the flip, ‘NoMeansNecessary’ is an uncompromising example of Windy City acid house. One track screams for submission, another makes your heart race in confusion, and the last leaves its mark ‘Dirty Criminal’ style.
