MICROS MORNING CD

Hailing from the electronic hotbed of Santiago, Chile (which has called itself home to the likes of Miss Dinky, Atom Heart/Senor Coconut, Luciano, Pier Bucci and Ricardo Villalobos), Andres Bucci and Kate Simko come together from very distinct pasts to find a common ground in the music they create. Andres Bucci is a respected Chilean producer and visual artist, having also spent six years living in Berlin; Andres’ unique sound is captured in many projects: Plan V

(alongside Argentinean superstar Gustavo Cerati and Black Dog, which had incredible impact in introducing electro to Chile and Argentina); recent project Bucci (with brother Pier); solo work as "Chord," and of course, Detalles. Kate Simko is a classically trained pianist, composer and producer from Chicago, who’s worked with Phillip Glass and Thomas Brinkmann.

The duo met in the fall of 2001 while Kate was studying music composition in Santiago. Their first release, Shapes of Summer, was released by influential German label Traum Schallplatten in 2003. The duo then parted ways (Kate lived in New York at the time) and reunited in 2004 for MUTEK.CL.

Kupei Musika proudly presents Micros Morning, a record that shows a harmonically-sound, minimal techno experience that with its warm tones exits from the norm. To complement their innovative sound, Kupei enlisted the talents of the aforementioned Pier Bucci (who’s also releases on Luciano’s Cadenza Records) and Kompakt’s sonic ambassador Jonas Bering, providing two very distinct remixes that add to the overall sound aesthetic of this release.
